Founding of HFObserver

HFObserver (HFO) was founded by Claude Schwab, who served as Bridgewater Associates’ talent strategist prior to launching HFO. Claude was formerly a partner at executive search consultancy Heidrick & Struggles (NSDQ: HSII), where he ran the firm’s Alternative Asset Management Practice/North America. Claude joined HSII after his recruiting firm was acquired by HSII in April 2008.

Claude has written several publications on the hedge fund industry, including the industry’s first career guide, Hedge Me, and one of the industry’s first compensation reports, Pay Me. Claude is often quoted in the press and also speaks regularly about the industry at top-ranked business schools and investment bank-sponsored events. Claude continues to write for HFObserver’s exclusive trend and career sections.

A graduate of The Wharton School (MBA), Columbia University (MA), and University of Pennsylvania (BA), Claude started his career in strategy consulting and venture capital (media & entertainment).
