Within a hedge fund, the Investor Relations (IR) group is responsible for all aspects of ongoing relationships with investors. The specific separation of duties between the IR group and the marketing and client administration groups can differ greatly among funds. However, as a rule, the IR group has accountability for maintaining a robust information flow between the organization and its investor base.
